Internship Goals

I would like to learn and experience the following:

• Learn what goes into making an event happen.
• Gain additional experience with appropriate software such as InDesign, Excel, Word, etc.
• Develop my professional writing and editing skills.
• Improve my public relations skills.
• Improve editing/ copywriting/ technical writing skills.
• Gain knowledge of database use and application.
• Gain more experience in teamwork and team writing and editing.
• Begin to pinpoint where my interests lie within the field of professional writing.
• Learn more about the writing process as it pertains to editing and technical writing.
• Strengthen my research skills.
• Become competent in the technical aspects of writing that requires the use of computer programs, research materials, etc.
• Familiarize myself with the various aspects of professional writing.
• Learn more about my local and regional community.
