One way I became involved while attending Appalachian State University was through representing my peers as a freshman class senator. The Student Government Association is a group of passionate individuals that serve Appalachian State University as the student voice and the student change on campus.

As an organization that exists for the good of the university, senators draft legislation on pressing issues to benefit the various constituency groups here on campus. This past semester, I was one of ten senators selected to be on the Elections Board Committee for the Student Body President and Vice President elections. As an E-Board member, my responsibility was to ensure each ticket ran a fair and ethical campaign, along with promoting student voting.

In the 2016 Senate Elections, I was re-elected as a sophomore senator for the 2016-2017 academic year.
