During the summer of 2014, I went on a three week humanitarian trip to Ghana, Africa, through a program called Global Leadership Adventures (GLA). While I was there, I taught English to sixth grade students, built two kindergarten classrooms, and immersed myself in the rich African culture. Since going on this trip, I became a GLA Ambassador, informing other high school students about this amazing opportunity. After college, I plan to apply to be a mentor for one of the many programs they offer all over the world.
These pictures are the faces of those children, the ones who impacted my life in such a unanimous way.
GLA's Mission Statement:
To inspire the next generation to realize their potential to tranform the world and their role in it.
